It's been a long summer break and there is just 4 weeks to go to the beginning of the new season. With unprecedented current circumstances & goverment guidelines in regards to Covid-19 we were thankful for the catch up with Paul Higginson, current PDA Chairman for his thoughts on the upcoming year.
"As always we want the best for the health and well being of all our players, supporters & venues and we look forward to the season starting on schedule Tuesday 6th October 2020".
"It's a welcome return to Tuesday Night Darts, but changes have had to be made" he added.
- No Trebles matches - teams will now play 10 x Singles matches & 5 x Doubles matches. This is to ensure social distancing is followed in selected venues and is kept within government restrictions & guidelines
- Players, Markers and Callers must supply and wear masks if the venue asks you to do so.
- Players are asked not to shake hands before or after gameplay.
- A Maximum of 6 persons are allowed in the oche area - These being The Caller, Marker and participating players in that match. In singles format a player may nominate their Captain/ Vice Captain to assist within the oche area as required (as per rule 6.4). These persons must always keep a minimum of 2m distance apart.
The above changes are in effect as from Tuesday 6th October 2020.
"If we can adhere to these simple changes - then we as a committee believe we'll have a fantastic year"
